JEREMY SCOTT

Fashion week, fashion week, fashion week. What can I say? Finding ourselves in the hustle and bustle at smashbox studios we sipped a few cocktails, mingled with some lovelies and admired Jeremy Scott's new collection. It was very street, literally. Lots of dresses, tops, leggings, hoodies and bathing suits (love 'em!!) with patterns consisting of tire & skid marks, colorful street signs meshed together, shoe marks (personal fave), hand marks, etc. The wide belt made from a tire was kitchy and the hats, my goodness the hats. All the models strutted their stuff down the runway with these over sized beret like hats that were patterned like trash can lids. Overall a fun collection, go figure it's Jeremy Scott!!! My apologies for the unclear pics..but twas the best i could do.

GIMMIE A BREAK

Break me off a piece of that kit kat bar. A couple weeks ago I was at ChaCha Lounge nomading around and found this green tea kit kat bar. I was drawn to the packaging and so I had to get it. Not only is it super cute but it also tastes ridiculously fantastic. I wish I knew where to find more, I snagged the last one....

MURAKAMI

yes..Takashi Murakami will be having his work exhibited at MOCA. Running from October 29-February 11, 2007. The opening party will be on Saturday, October 27th from 6pm to 11pm.

Make arrangements, if not to attend the smashing opening at the very least, to check out the show before it is gone. Word has it that there's going to be two entrances, one for the kiddies and one for the grown folks. Wonder what's in the adult entrance that the kids can't see. Naughty Naughty.

STREETWEAR FOR BABIES?

So, yes everyone is having babies. K Fed has 4, Xtina is way pregnant, Nicole looks healthy now that she's eating for one more, Gwen steps out at the end of the runway carrying Kingston, Brangelina are currently in Peru looking for #5, and J.Lo is hiding her baby bump while getting down on stage in Puerto Rico. Only one things comes to my mind when I think about babies....what would mine wear? Sir Hayes of course.

Sir Hayes is a fresh take on childrenswear, inspired by the royal blocks of Bedford-Stuyvesant, exclusively for young knights with sophisticated tastes.

Stylish boys line Sir Hayes offers playful interpretations of classic menswear with a street kid wit. This season they further expand their line to offer more than just humorous t-shirts. The collection is complete with candy-colored argyle, chalk stripe sweaters, and sophisticated hooded gowns with detail ribbon trim.

Visit www.sirhayes.com to view the full collection or for more info. I seriously think it's the cutest thing I have ever seen. It makes me want to have babies, not only because I would be super cute pregnant, but because i have an obsession with dressing people. Dressing babies? Forget about it! Sir Hayes...done deal.

IMPROMTU PHOTO SHOOTS

....Sometimes we are out and about and we stumble across moments that are hard to pass up especially when involving random things found on the street such as this fabulous little tikes kitchen given to me for my birthday....

RIGHT WHEN I STOPPED LIKING NYLON MAGAZINE

So, maybe about in the year 2002 I was all bout NYLON magazine. I remember going to FIDM and my ex boyfriend and I were all about it! Nobody knew what it was. The art direction was incredible! In fact, I think I still have this insane issue with Lil' Kim in Heatherette ( pre Macy's Heatherette) on the cover somewhere in my inspiration vault. But to be completely honest with you, I have been absolutely unimpressed with anything they publish. Well, actually they did mention that the scrunchie was making a comeback a few issues back, and I thought it was adorable. But anyway, they put Avril Lavigne on the cover once! I see 14 yr. old girls that go to Fairfax buying it at the news stand! Maybe I'm a bitch or maybe I just grew up!

Well let’s set my jaded opinions aside, and have a change of heart. Some of our stuff was used for the December issue! They also shot my girl Renee's line called SECTA. How cute is that? How cute are we? How cute are these pictures? The cable knit tunic is from our holiday collection and in stores at the end of the month. The purple jumper and bike chain shirt below is from spring and like I posted before hits stores in the later part of January. I want those silver shoes NOW!!!

YOU MISSED OUT ON THE BEST ROJAS SALE TO DATE!

YEAH, SO....THIS IS MY FIRST OFFICIAL POST!

ANYWAY, FREDDIE AND I ARE CURRENTLY CHANGING THE BRAND'S DIRECTION. WE ARE REALLY GOING TO FOCUS ON BRANDING AND BECOMING MORE OFFICIAL FOR 2008. SOON WE WILL HAVE A BETTER WEBSITE, NEW TAGS, A RENOVATION IN THE STORE, ADVERTISING, AND HOPEFULLY THE RETURN OF HIS INFAMOUS RUNWAY SHOWS AND MELROSE ALLEY PARTIES!

WE WERE REALLY ANTICIPATING A FIERCE LOOK BOOK FOR OUR SPRING/RESORT '08 COLLECTION. WE THOUGHT THIS ONE TURNED OUT KIND OF AMAZING AND MOST DEFINITELY DESERVED ONE! UNFORTUNATELY WE HAD NO TIME BEFORE THE NEXT L.A. MARKET AND ENDED UP SHOOTING THE COLLECTION ON A MANNEQUIN AT THE MAG/NET SHOWROOM. IT WOULD HAVE TURNED OUT BORING AND A LITTLE TOO BASIC UNTIL WE DECIDED TO GET A LITTLE CRAZY FOR SOME "LIFESTYLE" SHOTS. THE RESULT? A TRUE SOUTH CENTRAL L.A. STREET VENDING EXPERIENCE! TRULY APPROPRIATE CONSIDERING THE FACT THAT SOME ITEMS FROM SPRING WERE ACTUALLY INSPIRED BY A PAIR OF CYCLING SHORTS WE BOUGHT FROM A LITTLE OLD LADY SELLING STUFF ON THE CORNER OF COMPTON AND ADAMS.

THE IMAGES ABOVE DO THE ACTUAL SHOOT NO JUSTICE. THOSE WERE SHOT WITH MY LITTLE CAMERA, BUT WHATEVS! YOU GET THE IDEA. THE SPRING '08 COLLECTION HITS STORES IN THE SECOND HALF OF JANUARY! PREPARE TO GAG! THAT'S ALL I CAN SAY. AND BY THE WAY, HIT ME UP IF YOU WANT HOLIDAY IN YOUR LIFE. THAT STUFF IS ALL UP IN MY FACE THIS WEEK. SOME OF IT SHOULD BE HERE NEXT WEEK. I KNOW YOU WANT THOSE GOLD SHORTS! AND THE TINY? THAT THING IS ON EVERYONE'S WISHLIST!
